IT Workshop for 1st-Semester BTech in Education Students at Kathmandu University School of Education

Kathmandu, August 26, 2026. We conducted an IT industry orientation session for the 1st-semester students of BTech in Education IT at Kathmandu University (KU) School of Education. The session helped students understand the IT industry, the expertise it demands, and the career pathways available after their studies.

This session is part of an initiative that helps students build career orientation from the very beginning of higher education and links academic learning with practical, industry-relevant skills.

Key focus areas of the session included:

• Introducing students to how the IT industry works and the career pathways open to them.
• Introducing the core technical and digital skills employers look for, including emerging areas such as AI.
• Building awareness of the digital and emerging technology skills that employers and the education sector increasingly value.
• Mapping career pathways in IT and education technology, from entry-level roles to specialization.
